Two sport management classes have been working with the United States Peace Corps on websites for sports diplomacy projects in Macedonia, under the direction of Dr. Chad Barr, associate professor of sports management.

The master’s-level sports management class has been creating unique websites for Peace Corp volunteers on multiple initiatives, including empowering women to run and assisting local basketball coaches to develop and improve their programs. These efforts focus on strategies to teach and integrate marginalized populations through sport, as well as engagement of children through sports training and life skills.

One of Barr’s undergraduate-level sports management class has connected with two-time Lynn University alum and Peace Corps volunteer Kyle Butcher to create a stand-alone website for the multi-sport club Kriva Palanka. The goal is to create a sustainable platform that can be used as a training reference for future coaches and club members. Lynn University students are exploring global trends and incorporating the most-recent content to make recommendations on their website.
