In this fashion degree program, you'll study fashion merchandising, retail buying and inventory replenishment, the evolution of fashion change, as well as styling and fashion forecasting. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to plan a large-scale runway show and work behind the scenes at fashion events around South Florida. This cutting edge fashion and retail program curriculum gives you a foundation in business, as well as provides you with the tools to purse an entry-level career in the fashion industry. When you graduate, you'll have a business degree, along with a major in fashion and retail to broaden your career options.
Fashion and retail majors have the opportunity to enroll in an elective basic garment construction course and learn the essentials of product development. We have excellent industry contacts in South Florida, New York and Los Angeles. And, you may meet them yourself! These professionals are great to network with—especially when searching for internship opportunities.

Earning a fashion degree from Lynn prepares you for a variety of fashion careers in different industries. In fact, we know that fashion and retail isn't always learned at a desk. Courses
Browse the curriculum, course descriptions and requirements for the Fashion and Retail program.
This course develops the competencies and skills for planning and managing projects and understanding interpersonal issues that drive successful project outcomes. Students will learn about the introduction of new products and processes, the project management life cycle, defining project parameters, matrix management challenges, effective project management tools and techniques, and the role of a project manager. Special emphasis is placed on The Project Management Institute’s Talent Triangle, which focuses on the role of Leadership, Strategic Management, and Technical Project Management play in modem project management.
Fashion events and their role in retail sales are examined. Course requirements include research, analysis, and forecasting of fashion trends and presentation of fashion events. A group fashion show will be incorporated into this course, as well as individual assignments. Group projects are also incorporated in the course, including community contact with local (and national) retail apparel firms.
Theory and practice of determining and implementing policy. Actual case studies of business organizations, including the determination of top-level company policy in such functional areas as finance, marketing and production are studied.
